Chateau Louis Wedding
The Blueish-grey walls and drapery of the Grand Ballroom

The Hotel and Conference Centre features a French theme, centering around the time of King Louis the 8th, hence the name “Chateau Louis.” It’s castle themed appearance really stands out making it very memorable. The Chateau Louis Conference Centre has a number of meeting rooms featuring high alcove ceilings with chandeliers. Décor throughout all rooms is simple yet elegant - the Grand Ballroom has greyish-blue walls featuring blue drapery while most other rooms have mint green walls. When planning a corporate function or an elegant banquet the rooms speak for themselves; they really do not need much added to them to create a tasteful and memorable event.

The conference centre is separate from the main hotel, therefore, hotel guests are not disrupted by any noise caused by events. Previously mentioned is the castle-like entrance which is one of the most unique features of this venue. The Chateau Louis offers a few other features that help separate it from other venues in Edmonton such as:

► Customizable LED colored lighting that point down from the alcove ceiling in the Grand Ballroom: simply pick one or more colors and have the room lit to your liking for a true “wow” effect.

► Although other venues in the city have a gazebo, the Chateau Louis' beautiful, private gazebo and courtyard really does standout from alternatives. It shouldn't be understated as hosting a ceremony just steps from the banquet room holds a lot of value. They also provide elegant white chairs and a remarkable red carpet to walk down the aisle.

► Being family owned and operated adds a special touch to their wedding service and packages. Attentive and eager-to-please staff offer assistance through planning as well as through each component on the day of your event.

► As for the hotel, the rich mahogany and leather bar known as Julian's has a saltwater aquarium and Edmonton's finest scotch. It also has a liquor store with excellent deals throughout the week and a games room including VLTs.

The Chateau Louis is across from Kingsway mall; just minutes from downtown and Yellowhead Trail. In no way does this location deter couples but it is not one of the top rated areas in Edmonton. On the plus side, it is easily accessed from Edmonton's north, east and west surrounding areas.

Parking is free and ample for all hotel and conference guests. The 4-level split conference center is equipped with a freight elevator. Hallways are wide and well-lit.

Sound & AV

The grand ballroom features a new sound and AV system which is a great asset for all sorts of entertainment and also includes 2 drop down screens and built-in projectors. The other banquet rooms still require portable projectors and screens.

Chateau Louis' customer service is unique in that they are a family-run and tight-knit organization. Service is sincere and efficient. Employees are truly interested in the planning and outcome of all events, from a small adjudication hearing to a 300+ guest wedding reception. Employees are valued and not just another number to our employers which is reflected in the genuine service provided. The food is of top quality and quantity. The conference centre chef, Mary, has been employed at the Chateau Louis for over 40 years. She is Italian and ensures that attendees do not leave hungry or unsatisfied. The banquet staff and bartenders are friendly, quick and personable. Some people are hesitant to book an event with over 300 people with only two bartenders but the Chateau Louis bartenders really pull their weight and provide excellent service.

A lot of other venues can reach up to $100 per person for a full-day conference or evening banquet. At the Chateau Louis, you can expect to fall between $50 and $75 per person inclusive for a similar function, with a wider variety of menu options.

The Future of the Chateau Louis

Renovations are on-going including painting, updating linens/décor in the hotel rooms, changing from carpet to laminate flooring to eliminate odors and avoid dust/allergens. They are currently in the process of removing their tennis courts and when finished, hopefully in early 2016, will bring an even nicer, spacious outdoor area for wedding ceremonies.
